Last summer I went to South Africa, but unfortunately, at that moment I didn’t know of the excistence of Babylonstoren, so I had to miss that. I stumbled upon this charming place on the internet, and I fell immediately in love. I think it’s one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever seen. And I was so nearby… I stayed at Cape Town and Stellenbosch for a couple days, that’s only one hour driving from Babylonstoren. Next time I visit South Africa, I will definitely visit Babylonstoren.
Babylonstoren is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms, located in the Cape Winelands with vineyards and orchards surrounded by the dramatic mountains of the Drakenstein Valley. Nowadays you can stay here at the exclusive farm hotel to relax and enjoy the amazing view. The place is decorated amazingly, so I wasn’t surprised when I read the owner is the former editor in chief of Elle Decoration in South Africa. One of the most beautiful things about this place are the gardens, with more than 300 varieties of fruits, vegetables & herbs. These fresh products are used in the Babel restaurant or if you like to cook, you can pick the ingredients for dinner from the garden and prep them yourself. Who wouldn’t want to stay here?
For more info, or to book an accomodation at this gorgeous place, visit the Babylonstoren site.
